The dialysis unit is housed in a new and accessible building located in downtown Basse-Terre, near the hospital.
It is a major center, very active in addressing patients' needs (cutting-edge techniques, particular attention paid to the patient's journey) :
- Preparation for grafting,
- Therapeutic education,
- Peritoneal dialysis (home)).
The care
Management of chronic kidney failure
can be carried out using several treatment methods :
- Hemodialysis in a medicalized dialysis unit takes care of patients for whom a medical presence during the session is not necessary continuously or patients who cannot or do not wish to be taken care of at home or in a self-dialysis unit.
- In-center hemodialysis for patients whose health condition does not allow treatment in a dialysis unit or at home.
Peritoneal dialysis
Peritoneal dialysis is for patients whose health allows for home-based care, promoting independence while ensuring regular and structured medical monitoring.
This method offers continuity of care adapted to patients' lifestyles, with personalized educational and medical support.
We welcome patients residing on other islands of the Guadeloupe archipelago, including Les Saintes, Marie-Galante, La Désirade, Saint-Martin, and Saint-Barthélemy, as well as vacationers requiring temporary care, all under optimal conditions of safety, comfort, and coordination.
